For the first time as part of the exhibition, the Chile-U.S. Bilateral Health Summit will be held—a milestone that highlights the potential of the Chilean healthcare market and opens up new opportunities for collaboration with international leaders.

As part of ExpoSalud 2026, eight U.S. organizations have confirmed their participation in the Chile-U.S. Bilateral Health Meeting, which will take place on Thursday, November 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and will bring together representatives from both countries to discuss new opportunities for collaboration.
The delegation currently includes Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, CommonSpirit Health International, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Henry Ford Health International, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center – Comprehensive Cancer Center, Mass General Brigham, and Advocate Health.
The presence of these institutions stands out due to the level of specialization and recognition that several of them enjoy within the U.S. healthcare ecosystem. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles ranks among the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the country according to U.S. News & World Report, while the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center ranks third nationally in cancer care. For its part, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has nine specialties recognized among the best in the United States by the same ranking, underscoring the caliber of the experts who will be part of the delegation.
Their participation stems from an interest in learning about the characteristics of the Chilean healthcare system and its main challenges. These include specialized care, telemedicine, healthcare management, and capacity building.
Interest in Chile
The delegation’s arrival comes at a time when the Chilean healthcare system is facing challenges that are also driving the search for new solutions and models of collaboration. Waiting lists, difficulties in accessing care, and the need to strengthen the system’s management coexist with a transformation process marked by advances in digital health and the use of data. These factors make the country an attractive market for institutions seeking to expand their international relationships.
“ExpoSalud aims to be a space where not only are new solutions for the sector presented, but also where we discuss the direction in which healthcare is moving and the challenges we must address as an industry. Incorporating an event like this bilateral meeting allows us to broaden that conversation and connect Chile with experiences that are shaping the sector’s evolution on an international level,” says Michele Pefaur, deputy manager of ExpoSalud.
An International Network Behind the Event
The Chile-U.S. Bilateral Health Meeting is organized in partnership with the U.S. Cooperative for International Patient Programs (USCIPP), a consortium that brings together U.S. academic medical centers, hospitals, and health systems with international programs. The organization focuses on inter-institutional collaboration, the exchange of best practices, market analysis, business intelligence, and the development of international collaboration opportunities.
USCIPP is part of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL), a Chicago-based nonprofit organization focused on leadership development and organizational excellence in healthcare. Among its international initiatives are business development activities and collaboration with partners in various markets.
In fact, USCIPP has already organized international missions and meetings in various markets, including China, Brazil, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Mexico.
Holding this meeting in Chile thus opens a new window for exchange between the two healthcare systems and reinforces the international character of ExpoSalud 2026, which will take place November 10–12 at Espacio Riesco and is organized by FISA, part of the GL events Chile group.
