How Can We Move Toward an Integrated Health Care System? ExpoSalud Will Address One of the Main Challenges Facing Health Care in Chile

Coordination among the different levels of care will be the focus of one of the two workshops at ExpoSalud 2026. The event will draw on the experience of Brazil’s Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein to demonstrate how to move toward more efficient, patient-centered care models capable of improving clinical outcomes.

The fragmentation of care remains one of the main challenges facing health care systems, and Chile is no exception to this reality. The lack of coordination between primary care, specialty care, and hospitals directly impacts the patient experience and hinders the continuity of treatment. Against this backdrop, ExpoSalud 2026, which will take place November 10–12 at Espacio Riesco, will offer a certified workshop dedicated exclusively to analyzing how to move toward more efficient models of integrated care.

Titled “From the Fragmented Patient to the Coordinated System: The Future of Integrated Healthcare,” the workshop will take place on Wednesday, November 11, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will present strategies to strengthen coordination among the different levels of care through patient-centered models that optimize resource use, improve clinical outcomes, and reduce avoidable hospitalizations. In addition, the workshop will review tools and real-world case studies demonstrating how institutions can evolve from fragmented systems toward more integrated care networks.

The workshop will be academically organized by the Einstein Hospital Israelita in São Paulo, Brazil. It is one of Latin America’s leading healthcare centers, which will share its experience in developing and implementing integrated care models. The presentation will be led by Tatiane Canero, Manager of Strategic and Digital Projects at the Brazilian institution.

The event will aim to provide concepts and tools that participants can apply in their own organizations, thereby moving toward resource optimization and much more efficient patient care.

The expo, specifically, is geared toward decision-makers in hospital settings and innovation in healthcare. Thus, ExpoSalud 2026, organized by FISA—part of the GL events Chile group—will bring together executives from hospitals and clinics, industry professionals, government officials, and academics.

One of ExpoSalud’s objectives is to create spaces where the various stakeholders in the system can learn about successful experiences that offer solutions to the challenges facing the healthcare sector. This workshop addresses a priority issue—the integration of care—and will showcase models that have demonstrated concrete results in coordinating patient care, providing tools that can serve as inspiration for moving toward a more efficient and people-centered system,” says Michelle Pefour, ExpoSalud’s manager, regarding the event.
