Cancer has emerged as one of the leading causes of death in Chile in recent years. According to estimates from international organizations such as GLOBOCAN, the country records more than 50,000 new cases annually, which strain the healthcare system and lead to the much-feared waiting lists. Given this situation, it is no surprise that the issue has taken center stage in the healthcare agenda.
With this challenging situation on the table, the role that new technologies can play is key. Artificial intelligence for medical image analysis, telemedicine platforms, and more advanced clinical management systems are emerging as tools with the potential to overcome this situation. Likewise, the promotion of prevention and early diagnosis is once again establishing itself as a clear strategy.
Expo Salud 2026: Focus on Solutions and Sector Coordination
In this context, Expo Salud 2026 will incorporate these challenges into its thematic focus areas. The fair, taking place November 10–12, will bring together medical technology providers, healthcare institutions, startups, and public and private stakeholders to address all existing challenges in the sector.
Among its more specific areas of focus, the event will emphasize prevention, the digitization of the healthcare system, and the dissemination of solutions aimed at improving coverage and reducing wait times.
The expo is also designed to serve as a meeting place to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development regarding one of the country’s major health challenges.
“Today, there is an urgent need to strengthen timely diagnosis, improve access to treatment, and advance the integration of technology into the healthcare system,” notes Michele Pefour, a representative of Expo Salud. In this vein, she adds that “Expo Salud 2026 aims precisely to be a meeting place where concrete solutions in prevention, innovation, and healthcare management are highlighted, with all sectors of the healthcare industry represented.”
The event will take place at Espacio Riesco and is expected to draw more than the 3,000 attendees who came last year. The event, organized by Fisa, part of the GL Events group, featured 80 speakers and 92 companies from the sector, as well as an International Congress, co-organized academically by the Einstein Hospital Israelita in Brazil. An event that, just like last year, will take place in 2026.
