ExpoSalud 2026 will feature an Oncology Experience and Innovation Center with 2.3 metric tons of equipment

The Medical Market and Grupo Biomédica Ingeniería exhibition space will feature four treatment areas, including imaging technologies, treatment simulations, and a series of talks by national and international specialists.

Medical technology plays a fundamental role in the various stages of cancer care. From the initial tests used to identify abnormalities to the procedures used to treat tumors, advances in imaging have expanded the tools available to clinical teams. This evolution will be the focus of Medical Market’s Center for Experience and Innovation, which will be part of ExpoSalud 2026.

The space will cover 60 square meters and will be organized into four zones that will guide visitors through the different stages of cancer care. The exhibit will feature approximately 2.3 metric tons of medical equipment and will combine the display of devices with physical representations of technologies commonly found in specialized centers.

“This immersive experience aims to demonstrate that medical technology does not operate in isolation but is part of a continuous care process. A timely diagnosis can change the course of a disease, and to achieve this, it is essential to have tools that enable progress from initial detection toward more accurate diagnoses and specialized treatments. We want visitors to understand that connection and learn firsthand how these solutions are expanding the possibilities of medicine,” says Michele Pefour, deputy manager of ExpoSalud.

The tour will begin in the Preventive Care area, where visitors can explore equipment designed for the timely detection of diseases. Among these will be the Aidia Volve digital mammography system from DRTECH, designed to produce high-quality images with a lower radiation dose. Also on display will be the P80 ultrasound system from SonoScape, which incorporates artificial intelligence tools to support clinical examinations. Joining these devices will be the TOPAZ portable X-ray system from DRGEM, which allows for examinations without the need to move the patient.

The next area will be dedicated to advanced diagnostics. The NeuViz ACE computed tomography (CT) scanner from Neusoft will be on display there, while other solutions from the company will be presented through informational materials. These include computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and PET/CT platforms—technologies that enable the study of the body’s anatomy and metabolic activity, providing information to determine the extent of a disease and guide clinical decisions.

The tour will continue to the Treatment area, where a physical model of a CT scanner gantry will be used to explain how Neusoft’s NeuRT Aurora platform works—a system developed to plan and administer radiation therapy with millimeter-level precision. The presentation aims to demonstrate how these systems direct the radiation dose toward the tumor while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues.

In the Innovation section, visitors will be able to learn about other alternatives for cancer treatment. One of these will be high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), a non-invasive technology that uses concentrated ultrasound waves to destroy tumor tissue without the need for incisions. The space will also feature a model of a hybrid suite that integrates angiography and computed tomography, demonstrating how both technologies can be combined to guide medical procedures in real time.

The experience will be complemented by a program of six specialized talks over the three days of the fair. The presentations will address the development of oncology in Chile and the functioning of the healthcare network, as well as the role of imaging in detection and diagnosis. They will also delve into the possibilities of precision radiation therapy and new applications of interventional oncology.

Among the scheduled speakers are Armando Gu, director of regionalization at Chongqing Haifu; Luis Bernal, a molecular imaging expert at Neusoft; and María Fernanda Garrido, sales manager at Medical Market. Their participation will allow for an exploration of these technologies’ applications from various perspectives, linking the development of medical solutions with their potential for clinical implementation.

The Experience and Innovation Center will also showcase Grupo Biomédica Ingeniería’s work in developing healthcare infrastructure. The company complements the technological offerings with services for setting up clinical spaces and support for the operation of specialized equipment—a necessary component for integrating these solutions into healthcare facilities.

ExpoSalud 2026 will take place November 10–12 at Espacio Riesco. Through this event, Medical Market and Grupo Biomédica Ingeniería will seek to introduce visitors to the technologies used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, showcasing how the tools available for patient care have evolved.
